Oh, it won't be the Cubs
The Cubs are now winners of three of four coming off a 3-3 road trip through the dregs of the NL West, and tonight they start a six game home stand with the Rockies and Blue Jays. They are 37-35 in third place, 7.5 games behind the Brewers, and one game out of the third Wild Card spot.
They clearly are in need of upgrades if they're going to do anything, because the current roster is keen on proving on a daily basis that they are not good enough.
We're less than 50 days from the trade deadline, and you never know just how many good players will be available, but it's becoming pretty clear that the best pitcher in the American League, if not all of baseball, is going to be there for the taking.
There are a lot of questions about the chances of Tarik Skubal becoming a Cub. So let's ask and answer them.
