The Cubs miserable bullpen is like a lead life preserver and there they are bobbing in the north Atlantic clinging to it and wondering why they are being inexorably pulled under.
But Craig Counsell was given a big idea by the front office geniuses who built this awful bullpen in the first place, and look out NL playoff teams, because you are not prepared for what the Cubs are about to unleash.
The key to saving the season is...Edward Cabrera?
“A great example from last year is what Roki Sasaki did the last month, into the playoffs,” Counsell said. “That could happen. That’s a roadmap to how this could be really successful. Is that the best result? That was a pretty darn good result. But that’s what you keep yourself open to.”
