Mundane baseball things are happening, spring's almost here!
And somebody at Marquee is hyping up Seiya's MVP chances. No, really.

Maybe it was because we finally got real snow the other day and it reminded us that it’s winter. Maybe it’s because there’s only one more real football game left for the next eight months. Maybe it’s because we’re just so fired up to see Eric Hosmer get 400 at bats before he’s DFA’d again. Whatever it is, we’ve reached the stage of the offseason where people are Tweeting videos of guys playing catch and taking batting practice and we all actually stop scrolling to watch.

Hey, a one-time NL MVP is hitting homers in batting practice! Does it mean he’s back to form and will probably hit 50 dongs for the Cubs this year? Sure does.

Hey, it’s the one-time Cubs top prospect hitting the ball really hard now that his pesky bundle of veins has been removed from his back. Is Brennen Davis back and ready to win Rookie of the Year, MVP and Ivy Futures Sexiest Prospect of the Year Award? Of course!
Cubs pitchers and catchers report two weeks from Wednesday, and it’s two days earlier for anybody who is playing in the World Baseball Classic this year. Yes, those two days will make all the difference, I’m sure.
And, it’s great to have baseball back so soon. Spring training is always the first real sign that winter’s end is in sight. Even if we’ve enjoyed the mildest, least wintery winter of all-time (well, since 2016-2017 at least), we’re looking forward to this one because last year’s offseason was such a shit show with the world’s dumbest lockout and everything else.
And how can you not be excited for baseball this year? The Cubs have gone all out in their quest to improve the team so in the words of one of their key new acquisitions, Fucker Barnyard Tucker Barnhart, they are hoping to “Play big games in September.”
