J-Mo's gotta go

Jameson Taillon's incredible season continued yesterday with another efficient appearance in the Cubs' 8-7 loss to Pissburgh.

Taillon gave up seven earned runs in four innings including three homers. Those homers bring his total for the season to 25 which ties him for the National League lead with Aaron Nola and Zach Littell, this despite the fact that Taillon has made six fewer starts than either of those two. Incredible.

In Taillon's fifteen starts he has given up homers in 12 of them. The only times he didn't were in his first start of the season against the Angels when he walked four in 4.2 in a 2-0 loss, May 10 in a 3-0 loss to the Rangers in which he actually pitched really well allowing just one run in 5.1 and four hits (he followed that up with a start against the White Sox where he gave up eight runs and five homers), and the last time he pitched without allowing a homer was when he got hurt in his June 7 start against the Giants and left after two innings.

I don't want to get overly technical about what Taillon's issues have been this year and weigh you down with a bunch of hard to decifer jargon, but there's no way around it.
