Why pass when you can run?

The Bears offense harkened back to a more successful time. But that ain't gonna work very often.

Why pass when you can run?

The Bears are back in their happy place, or at least ours, noon on Sunday with the sixth rated crew from one of the networks in town. The prime time humiliations are on hold for…wait…two weeks? Oh, that’s a Thursday night Amazon game, and it’s against the Washington Commodes, but we’ll worry about that later.

The third greatest coach in Bears history, Lovie Lee Smith is back playing his old team for the third time as the opposing head coach. Lovie’s a good dude and for a decade he was a damned good coach for the Bears, but it was time to modernize the offense so they let him go, and…it’s only been a decade, I’m sure it’s coming.

There’s a delay before the game can start, because Lovie has called referee Clete Blakeman over and he’s attempting to call all six timeouts just to get rid of them.

Our announcing crew is Andrew Catalon, James Lofton and Michael Grady, or is it Mike O’Grady? No way to tell.

The Bears are wearing their throwbacks—no, not those, the other ones—the ones with the cool socks that make every player look like he’s about to be crushed by a house in Oz.

Lofton says the Bears are optimistic about improvement from their offense, and they fumble the snap on the first play of the game. Fun.
