Synchronized winning
The field was a mess, and so were the Bears, until suddenly they weren't

As a great man once said, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes it rains three inches in an hour and your brand new Bermuda grass field turns into a swamp.
The Bears opened the 2022 season against a bona fide Super Bowl contender and we got our first glimpse at the Matt Eberflus era, and honestly the first glimpse looked like the same old shit. A stout defense and a terrible offense, and then…suddenly, it didn’t. All we ask of this season is that it be fun. And after a rough start yesterday, it got really, really fun.
Here’s a running diary from the dry comfort of my recliner.
Enjoy.
Won’t it suck when the Bears have a roof on their stadium and fans won’t be able to sit in wet clothes for three hours watching their favorite team lose?
Meanwhile in Pissburgh:
Jay Glazer reports on Fox NFL Sunday that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin's plan is "to sit Kenny Pickett all season long, and just let him sit and learn in his rookie season."

"This is [Mitch] Trubisky's team." 🏈
Great scoop here by Fox’s human thumb. You mean the head coach of a football team says before the first game of the season that he has no predetermined plans to bench his quarterback? I guess that does mean Mitch is great now.
The Bears brought out Jim Cornelison to sing the anthem super loud and point at the flag, so I guess we’re ready to go.
Here you can see the decibel meter on Jim’s knock off Apple Watch telling him, “OK,,buddy. We get it. That’s quite enough, already.”
