Petecrow should not apologize for giving a shit

The Cubs recent slide continued unabated last night at Shōta threw batting practice for the Brewers in a 9-3 loss. The Cubs' lead in the Central is now down to a half game, and while they are still 10 games over .500, that comes on the strength of two 10 game winning streaks. So they also have a nice hunk of season where they have played 10 games below .500. How fun for them.

Before last night's game, Cubs manager Craig Counsell said he had a talk with Petecrow Armstrong, who got into a little shouting match with a redneck White Sox fan on Sunday, and could be heard giving her a suggestion of a sex act she could perform on him.

Craig tsk tsked Petecrow, who met with reporters and apologized for his language. As he should have. It's not chivalrous to end that sentence without the courtesy of the word please.

Petecrow seemed genuinely contrite, because that's who he is. He's just a very nice person. I'm sure there are plenty of other players who when Craig suggested they apologize would just repeated what they said to the fan who showed up for a baseball game wearing the slip from her Prom dress.

The fan, who presumably got her front row seat from Make A Wish due to her lifelong bout with webbed feet, proudly said after the game that it was her intention to "say stuff" to Petecrow. She says she said, "You suck."
