RECRAP: Let's get nuts

The Cubs are back up off the mat and have forced a game five in the NLDS. Oleg and Praz are on hand to talk about Ian Happ, who apparently did something, Matt Boyd and the boys who showed a lot of spunk in giving Milwaukee a chance for an epic playoff choke. It's the RECRAP brought to you by Empire Carpet and the Pat Benkowski Sports Spectacular.

RECRAP - Let's get nuts. Cubs 6, Brewers 0 - October 9, 2025

Did Happ's first inning homer cause Sister Jean so much shock that it caused her unexpected death at the young age of 106? There's no way to know for sure. But yeah, probably.

Not only did Happ hit a key bomb, but Kyle Tucker became the first Cubs' DH to homer in a postseason game.

There's a long history of Cubs' DHs in the playoffs. Kyle Schwarber handled it in the 2016 World Series and while he was great (7-for-17, .412/.500/.471), the only other Cubs' playoff DHs before Tucker this year were Victor Caratini in game one of the 2020 best of three against the Marlins and then Willson Contreras in game two. Caratini was shockingly 0-for-4, and Contreras was 0-for-1 as David Ross somehow managed to lose the DH after just two plate appearances. Of course he did. At least one of them finally hit a homer.

Cubs-Brewers game five is at 7:08 Saturday night. We don't know who will start for the Brewers, though you can be their rubber faced giraffe will throw at least a couple of innings at some point. Shōta Imanaga will likely pitch for the Cubs, though we have no idea if he'll start or for how long.

The biggest thing for the Cubs is that Tucker seems to have woken up with the bat. In the two games at Wrigley he was 4-for-5 with three walks and a homer. We saw how much he can wreck games at the beginning of the season. It's been a while, but it'd be nice for him to wreck some at the end, too.

This would make a cool shirt, right?

And you know what? There might even be others.
