RECRAP: Bears win a gut-punch game
They blew it spectacular fashion, but then took it back
The Bears offense was great, especially in the second half, and the defense was so bad that Chauncey CJ Gardner-Johnson has become a big part of trying to make it work, but in the end of a crazy game that felt like a gut punch loss, the Bears made the last big play and won it by the very un-Bears like score of 47-42. Colston Loveland had a huge day and the game winning play, Kyle Monangai ran wild in his first chance to be the lead back, and for all of Adam Archuleta's bitching, Caleb Williams had a game unlike any NFL player, ever. The RECRAP, brought to you by Todd Green Toyota of Springfield, and the Pat Benkowski Sports Spectacular breaks it all down.
RECRAP: Bears win a gut-punch game - Pointless Exercise Podcast
In the RECRAP I reference the Septembert 1983 game when Walter Payton threw two touchdown passes and caught at least two passes (the last time anyone did it before Caleb). The Bears lost to the Saints in overtime 34-31 and it was the first overtime win in Saints history. Of course.
Here are the Harry Kalas narrated highlights (you have to click through to YouTube because the NFL sucks.)
Jim McMahon started the game and got hurt. Vince Evans replaced him and Ditka decided "fuck it" and dialed up two passes for Walter, who threw for 77 yards and two scores. Walter also rushed for 161 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 27 yards.
