Meet the new Bears

You won't recognize half the roster, and after the last two years, how can that be a bad thing?

Meet the new Bears

Are you ready for some football? Well, it doesn’t matter if you are or not because it starts this week and the Bears have a game Sunday and whether we like it or not they are going to play it.

The Bears have a new coach, a new offensive coordinator, a new general manager and new…well, pretty much everything is new. And Ted Phillips is so excited about the changes that he’s retiring right before the team gets started on finally building their own stadium. That seemed curious until George McCaskey said he’d be open to Ted coming back to work as a consultant on the stadium project. Now that’s good hustle, particularly for an overly tan non-entity like Sweaty Teddy. Consultant gigs are the best. I should know, I just got paid big bucks to serve as a crisis PR consultant to Olivia Wilde, and that’s going great.

Anyway, training camp is over, the Bears made their cut down to 53 players and then they found seven more players so some of the guys who called their loved ones to tell them, “I made it.” Had to call back the next day to see if they could get a ride home.

Let’s check out the roster and rank the units.
