The Cubs introduced their new middle of the rotation sensation, Jameson Taillon, to the media Monday, and he sure knows how to play all of Marquee’s favorite hits.

- Mom went to Northwestern
- Dad's first job out of college was in Chicago
- Brother was born in Chicago
- Girlfriend lived in Barrington for four years
"A lot of connections, a lot of people that are really excited to see me go there."
Somewhere Taylor MacGregor was jotting down all of her new in-game interview ideas. I’m sure we’ll all get quality time with his dad, his girlfriend, his brother and, I guess, Willie the Wildcat?
Taillon said that what really tipped the scales in the Cubs’ favor was that they were the only team to meet him in person (and the $68 million) and he talked to some former teammates including Anthony Rizzo and Scott Effross who said great things about the Cubs (and the $68 million) and he even got the scoop from Richard Williams’ kid (and the $68 million).
Jameson Taillon said Cubs expressed genuine interest from beginning of FA.

Taillon's 2-hour in-person meeting with asst GM/VP of pitching Craig Breslow & customized videos Cubs sent stood out.
Anthony Rizzo, Scott Effross & Trevor Williams all spoke highly of org to Taillon too
Trevor was probably like, “You don’t even have to be good and they’ll interview your dad every time you start!”
