I'm sure the Cubs will fix him
Cody Bellinger can join the long, distinguished list of hitters the Cubs have turned around

It’s only money.
That was the immediate reaction of Cubs fans and pundits to the news that the team has plugged its eternally gaping hole in center field with a 27-year-old former NL Rookie of the Year, MVP, Gold Glove winner, Silver Slugger and two-time All-Star. So what’s not to love?
.203/.272/.376 - Oof, that’s a bad stretch. What was that, the guy’s stats over the last month of a season?
That’s the slash line for Cody Bellinger’s last 1,032 at bats. That’s two full and one pandemic season worth of awful. He did all of that while playing for the Dodgers, one of—if not—the best run organizations in the sport. They tried and tried and tried to fix him. And that’s the best they could do.
But hey, I’m sure the Cubs will turn him right around. And if they don’t, well they can get out of it in just one season and after all, it’s only money.
