Since the Cubs aren’t going to take my advice from yesterday about firing their dense manager and ineffectual president of mediocre baseball operations, I’m going to give them three pieces of advice that are far easier to take, since they do not involve paying someone to not work.
Stop batting Ian Happ third or cleanup
Literally for months I’ve been advocating for the Cubs to move Ian Happ to the leadoff spot in their lineup because a) hardly anybody else gets on base and b) he’s not hitting for power, or even average at this point.
Quick, without looking, guess what Happ’s batting average is at the All-Star Break.
