The good thing about how bad the Bears loss at home to the Packers last week was is that it’s really hard for them to continue to increase our disappointment. The “best” they can do with continued incompetence is to maintain our disdain at the highest level. Signs of life or even progress (gasp!) will only start to chip away at our immediate inclination to dismiss them as just more of the shit we’ve become used to.

So, in that case, the Bears 27-17 loss to the Bucs on Sunday accomplished the first part. It was a rough watch, again. The offense seemed to be trying to move in both directions at once. The defense couldn’t get off the field and somehow couldn’t tackle elvish Baker Mayfield (I guess he’s sprightly), and so it was mostly three more hours of not fun. And yet, it didn’t make me think they were worse than I already did.

Then again, it didn’t make me think they were any better.

So…great?

We will start with the most important information you can possibly get out of this game.
